The Hands On and Happy Workshop.

I particularly enjoyed the energy of the speaker Angela Llanas. In this workshop she gave us ideas about teaching aids that we can use in the classroom with the little ones. Sometimes getting material can be expensive or takes too

much time and resources to make your own. The fact that Angela taught us how to make puppets out of socks, paper bagas and even popsicle sticks was eye opening. We often see material that is so elaborate and with many details and we instantly think we must have it, but the truth is thta kids do not care about the price of the puppets nor the quality, they just care about being entertained and being able to get their hands on them.
We also learnt that most children learn by manipulating objects and by being active with many activities, so instead of trying to tame them we should recharge their battery and allow them to experiment with the language, because when learning stops being fun children loose interest.
